Code / Script Examples
Future Project(s)

Programming skills have grown into a necessity for high quality GIS analysis. However, the ability to rapidly adapt and learn a new language will often produce a higher quality result.  Therefore, it has been my goal to become invested in several key languages with different architecture (compiled, interpreted, scripting) and syntax.  Below are several code examples.  More will be added as they are developed.

Python:

   True Jenks script

   Half Section Map re-name

   Battleship

Batch File Language

   Re-size Pictures (using PixResizer)

The VT Culverts project required a multitude of different departmental employees to collect inventories of the state-wide culvert system.  This included state DOT employees, town DPW employees, and various interns.  The standards and methods needed to be laid out in order to achieve the level of accuracy desired.   This manual was created for that purpose.

The purpose of this project was to inventory paratransit stop locations for a client.  The project was approached with an agile project management method.  The project was highly successful, meeting budget, alloted time, and deliverables. Below you will find links to the various documentation generated during this process.
